Our Analyst program provides progressive, staged training to learn skills that are critical to being an active member of the team. 

Each summer, new Analysts from our eight offices convene in Richmond for an intensive training program designed to integrate them into our culture, provide thorough knowledge of the practices of the firm, and prepare them for the robust client engagement work ahead. Our rigorous training program is just the beginning of an extensive learning experience at Harris Williams.  

Our Analysts build a well-rounded skillset and make a direct impact for the firm. From actively contributing to each phase of the client engagement process, developing valuation models and analysis, and researching private and public companies, they play an integral role in our M&A advisory activities.

Eligible candidates should be working toward or already possess a bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution. No specific academic major is required; however, basic knowledge of finance and accounting is desired.

This dynamic internship kicks off with formal training where you will learn the quantitative aspects of M&A, participate in a client engagement simulation, and take a deep dive into the role of the Analyst. Next, you will work directly with seasoned professionals on live client engagements, developing your business communication, strategic thinking, modeling, and client interaction skills that will help you launch your career in investment banking.

Our Frankfurt off-cycle internship program typically runs for 12 weeks, four times per year. This is an exciting opportunity for students or recent graduates that will help to develop their career in investment banking. Interns learn the deal process through live transaction work alongside seasoned banking professionals and are active contributors during every phase of the deal process. As an intern you will work on live deals, contribute to pitch materials, and support on creating marketing materials.​

Eligible candidates should be in the second half of their academic studies and have a strong academic track record, preferably in a management, business or financial degree. Individuals should also be proficient in conversational and written German and English.​

Our two-week M&A Boot Camp program, held in our Richmond office, is designed for rising seniors to simulate the fast-paced and challenging Analyst role. You will experience a deep dive into the world of M&A, complete with detailed instruction, and can apply learning through assignments and exposure to client engagement-related work and meetings. All boot camp participants are eligible to receive full-time offers to join the Richmond office as an Analyst upon their graduation.
