Rensa Filtration Acquires IREMA-Filter

7053 IREMA-Filter - Rensa Filtration NT

M&A Engagement Overview

Industry Group: Industrials
Areas of Focus: Flow Control, Industrial Technology

Harris Williams advised Rensa Filtration (“Rensa”), a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity (“Audax”), on their acquisition of IREMA-Filter GmbH (“IREMA-Filter”), a portfolio company of PINOVA Capital. IREMA-Filter is a manufacturer of filtration products for HVAC, medical, and industrial applications.

The flow control and filtration market is facing increasingly stringent regulations on water quality, air pollution, and energy efficiency, pushing various mature and emerging industries to adopt advanced filtration and flow control technologies. Companies like IREMA-Filter are known for their technological capabilities, including PFAS-certified filters and HEPA systems, and ability to address emerging environmental and health concerns.

IREMA-Filter, headquartered in Postbauer-Heng, Germany, specializes in the design and manufacturing of mini pleats, filter media, ready-to-use filters, and synthetic filter media for air filtration. The company offers innovative, high-performance solutions that seek to help enhance customers’ energy efficiency, drive high performance, and ensure long service life. IREMA-Filter focuses on high-growth emerging verticals such as data centers and high-tech manufacturing, as well as various mature, high-volume sectors like healthcare and automotive.

The acquisition is in line with Rensa’s continued buy-and-build driven growth strategy of consolidating a highly fragmented market in the U.S. and internationally and marks the ninth acquisition since Audax invested in Rensa in 2022. The transaction represents an important milestone in positioning the company for further international growth in core sectors and other emerging industries.

IREMA-Filter's deep knowledge of synthetic filters, including mini pleats and hybrid filters, complements Rensa's portfolio of air filtration products such as HEPA filters, activated carbon filters, and custom solutions. The combined entity now has the opportunity to serve a broader range of businesses with specialized solutions while benefiting from significant operational and cross-selling synergies.
